5K to 10K program?

Ok, I've reached the 5K plateau, and now have registered for the Peachtree Road Race here in Atlanta (10K).

I really benefitted from the interval training and design of the C25K program, and am wondering if there's anything similar (and free) for getting to the 6.2 mile distance?

What have been your aids?  Have you any recommendations?

Thanks,
Chad

There is an addition to the C25K that takes you from the 5K to 10K distance.

For me I have simply tried to maintain my pace and add distance.

What Paul said.  I didn't do a formal 5K to 10K plan, I just kept adding distance, but there are plans out there.

Congrats!

I've bene using Hal Higdon's 10k Novice Training Plan - google it, it'll come right up.  I did C25K tihs fall.  During week one of this program you will run 3 miles.  So I think it's a good starting point after C25K to build up to the 10K over the span of 8 weeks.
