Shamrock 8k w/ pic

Ran the Shamrock 8k in Portland, Oregon yesterday. What a great distance for a race! It was easy to challenge myself since I knew it was over in 4.97 miles. The first three miles (or so) were uphill (a 200+ climb in elevation, so not too bad), but the rest was downhill and flat. I pushed myself and ran an average of 9:44 min miles. Awesome for me! It was a huge, fun race. Lots of costumes and over 30,000 runners!

I'm the one on the right....looking short.....but I was hanging out with a bunch of 5'9"+ women! :)

great job on the race, congrats!  hills ruin me, but given the choice, i would probably rather have them @ the beginning :)

Congratulations! I like the 5 mile races. Just enough distance that you can actually challenge yourself and get comfortable with your stride. Glad that you had fun and finished strong.
