OMG - just did Zumba, so much FUN!
Today was suppose to be a rest day, but I had a chance to finally try a zumba class (others just didn't fit in with my schedule). It was SO MUCH FUN! And I could keep up with the whole thing, not even out of breath at all. I feel great, and it's a wonderful feeling to have been working so hard to get in shape and knowing I can go into a class like that and not only keep up, but not feel like it was even that hard or I was out of my element.

I just tried my first one last Thursday--went with my daughter. I personally didn't like it much, I'm not much of a dancer, and I didn't feel like I really got a workout (I'm a runner and a P90X fan).
My daughter loved it, and is planning on going back. I think it is a great change of pace alternative and a really good way for a lot of folks to start exercising--it is cardio and fun (for those that aren't spastic like me).
I should add: The instructor is VERY new at teaching and wasn't 100% sure of all the moves herself so that probably made a difference....I'd like to try with a hardcore instructor--it may be more intense.

We were mostly beginners, and our teacher took it a little easy on us. I had no problem keeping up. I love dance too. Have a great time!

I took my first class Monday afternoon and absolutely loved it too! I was afraid that it wouldn't be much of a workout, but boy was I wrong. I have a bit of a background with choreography and pick up steps and patterns pretty easily, so since that wasn't a problem I really got to focus on working it -- big movements, big muscle contractions, etc -- and it was a GREAT workout. I left there dripping like I'd just run a half hour on the treadmill.
This morning I'm gonna go check out a different class at a different place... Zumba Toning, which from what I understand incorporates even more muscle toning into the dance. I can totally see how this could become addicting!
