Xpost-Raising Money for Crohn's and Colitis
Hi Everyone,
As some of you know, two years ago, both my sons were diagnosed with Crohn's Disease. This is a horrible disease that affects the intestines, causing swelling, blockage, ... My younger son was malnourished as he hadn't been absorbing anything, and puberty was delayed. He was the 2nd shortest kid in his 9th grade class. It was two years of hell with lots of doctors' visits, trying different meds, finally bypass surgery for my oldest son where they removed 16cm of his lower intestine, 10% of his colon, and his appendix. He takes B12 sublingual now just like me. But thankfully, 2011 seems to be the year we've gotten it under control. Both my kids are doing great, the younger one is growing (taller than me now), and they are for all intents, healthy. Still on medicine, but hopefully, someday, a cure can be found.
Last year, after having RNY in Dec. 09, I was looking for something to encourage me to exercise. I received an invitation to join the Team Challenge Team to raise money for the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America and train for a Half Marathon. Wow, exercise with a trainer and team and do something to help my kids. The first training session, we did 3 miles. I could barely complete it. The trainer almost suggested I wouldn't be able to do the 13.1 miles, but I perservered and completed the half not in last place (close) in 4 hours 11 minutes or so.
Once again, I am training for a Half Marathon with Team Challenge to raise money for CCFA. Please help me fight this disease by making a donation at my website:

Anything is appreciated. All the support you've given me in my training has been so much appreciated.
Thank you!
