Workout was last night, so I'm just posting now.

Doubles tennis practice for an hour and a half. But before that, I 'ran' a full 5K outside!!! 3.1 miles in 31 minutes (10 min/mile pace). I'd like to get one more training run in before my first race on Saturday.

that's awesome!  make sure you take a full day of rest on friday, or at the very least no leg workouts or running on friday.
Where are we going??  And why am I in this handbasket??

right now.  somewhere.  somebody is working harder than you.

Thank Mac.

I was planning on resting Friday.  And wanted to do another outdoor run tomorrow.

Was going to ask later, but maybe now is as good a time as any.

Anyone have tips for what/whether to eat before the race on Saturday?  Start time is 8am.  I'm assuming there will be drink stations around the course, but I'll be sure to hydrate well Friday and maybe down a liter or so before hand on Saturday.  Anything else I should prepare for?

don't do anything different eating wise, experiement with nutrtion during your training sessions, the last thing you want to deal with are gastro issues during a race.  what is your normal morning/pre-workout routine eating?  also, hydrate pre-race but don't over-hydrate, all you will want to do is whiz during the race and the port-o-potty lines will be big (although there are places to water the trees at this event behind the building... )

Unfortunately, at this point, there is no normal.

I haven't worked out in the morning.  My training runs at the gym have been either lunchtime (before eating) or evening (before dinner), or late after dinner.

So, I'll plan on doing a light breakfast (toast with peanut butter) pre-race with a bottle of water, but not too much.

Thanks,
Chad
