Results pending, x-rays today.

So even though I followed my surgeons rules and actually got his official clearance on Friday, a new problem has popped up.  I have been experiencing severe shooting pains in the right hip while laying prone (sleeping!). It's been interfering with sleep and occassionally with sitting in a chair while at work. Running has not been impacted at all.  So Sunday was a bad day. Woke up and spent the whole day with pain. Today I contacted my primary doctor and chiropractor, got x-rays, and arranged for therapy. Tomorrow morning my chiro will do some accupuncture and Grafton.

So feeling bad for myself, I did a 6-mile run this evening. Felt great without any pain. Came home, laid down, and pow, the pain comes right back. Tomorrow after the chiro appointment my doctor is going to run with me to make sure that she doesn't have to shut me down for awhile. After the run I'm going to a beginners yoga class (heated).

Need to push these problems aside and get back to some serious workouts. Race events start next weekend. Thanks for listening.

man, what a bummer.  i haven't heard of such a thing, running with no pain but hurts to lay down!  that really sucks.
Where are we going??  And why am I in this handbasket??

right now.  somewhere.  somebody is working harder than you.

Take care of yourself and get better.

It is a bummer to miss races or training, but it's better than increasing any possible damage.

I hope you get good news tomorrow.

Sorry to hear Rob, that is strange. Glad you are trying therapy, and acupuncture can work wonders.

Stay strong and feel better.

I hope you got some answers today.  Strange to be able to run, but not sleep without pain.  You'll have to hang upside down like a vampire on one of those inversion contraptions.

Hope they figure it out. You could always run all night instead of sleeping

So the x-rays showed low levels of arthritis in the right hip, but no explanation of the night time ailments. So I have multiple sessions with my chiropractor scheduled, as well as some sessions at the university with some running physicians that are going to hook me up with oxygen and monitors while running.

So no more excuses... Back on the road now.  Although I am thinking of taking Cassie's advice and hanging upside down in the closet at night.

Remember we spring forward this weekend.
