1 MILE....I DID IT!

Okay, it may not seem like a big deal, but I have been working so hard at increasing my endurance and yesterday I jogged my 1st non-stop mile!  I was at the gym and no one was there.  I passed the 1/2 mile mark and felt good, so I though why not keep going?  Before I knew it the entire mile had passed.

I am only jogging at about 4.5 - 4.8 but I did it.  My next goal is to increase my speed.  My ultimate goal is a 12 minute mile and I am not that far from it.

I hope to stay motivated and accountable through this forum.  Thanks in advance for your support!

it's totally a big deal, congrats!  i was just talking about this with my father a couple of weeks ago.  i'm coming up on the 2nd anniversary when i ran my first mile post-op later this month.  by memorial day that year i ran my first 5K, thanksgiving that year, my first half marathon, almost one year to the day, my first full marathon.  progress is exciting!
Where are we going??  And why am I in this handbasket??

right now.  somewhere.  somebody is working harder than you.

It's a huge deal. I'm on the 3rd week of the Couch to 5K, and the running 3 minutes non-stop is kicking my butt. I did it the first day, but today, I worked out with my trainer first and I struggled the second time I had to run 3 minutes straight. You're my inspiration!!

This is a major milestone so don't feel like it isn't a big deal.  Congrats on the mile and your hard work.
