If you've got 2.6 under your belt, you'll be ready by July. Locally, we do a couch to 15K program for the Utica Boilermaker. We build a solid base of 3-4 miles between March and May and add a mile to the long run each week in June. They're ready to go the distance by July.
Be sure to get frozen peas for the berries. When you're ready to try a little bouncing, secure 'em with compression shorts.
Good luck!
