Ran my 1st 5k yesterday.  Came in at 35:42 and that's better than I expected.  VERY sore today.  Not injured or anything but I hurt in places I didn't know I had.  I hit the protein hard today so I hope that helps.  I have another 5k on Saturday.  Any advice on training/tapering for this week and a way to mitigate soreness?

Thanks,
Mike

The main thing would be to keep moving to help with the soreness, but keep the intensity on the low side so you don't overdo.

congrats!  i wouldn't do anything special beyond what linn said.  i would try to schedule one of your rest days for the day before the race.  best of luck on the next one!
Where are we going??  And why am I in this handbasket??

right now.  somewhere.  somebody is working harder than you.
