HELP PLEASE!!  I've fallen off the exercise wagon and want to get back on but it's been so hard.  For all the reasons I want to exercise, I just am not doing it.  I'm in a rut and need to get out.  I feel so much better when I work out.  My mind is in a good place as well as my body.  I know I just hav to do it and stop whining about it.  Thanks for listening.

You need to find something fun that you will enjoy. Not everyone loves the gym! Find a sport or some activity that won't bore you to death and then you might feel more motivated

Signup for a 5K, Buy some personal training time, take a paid class. Typically if you have money to lose you might be more inclined to do it.

In the end the only person that can make you do it is you, but you already know that.

Good Luck!

Yes, that's true.  I had $$ to pay for a personal trainer in the past and went and loved it.  The $$ has since ran out and now I'm on my own.  Thanks so much for the words of encouragement to all.  My butt is heading to the gym.

you pretty much said what you needed to say to motivate yourself, you just need to go out and do it.  especially your comment about feeling so much better when working out.  that seems like a no-brainer to continue :)

i agree with another poster, the best way to get going and keep going is to find something that you love to do.  if that's lifting weights, running, biking, swimming, walking, line dancing, aerobics, yoga, beating somebody up with mixed martial arts it doesn't matter.  what matters is that you are moving and doing something that is sustainable.  best of luck and stick around, motivation can start here in the daily threads.
Where are we going??  And why am I in this handbasket??

right now.  somewhere.  somebody is working harder than you.

Thanks so much for the response.  I needed to visit the site again.  I now know why I liked visiting so much, for people like you guys that are so supportive.  I've come to far on this journey to just stop.  It is a lifestyle change.  Thanks again and good luck to you.

OK, so why not get started now.  Start posting daily to this to hold yourself accountable.  We are nothing if not supportive.  Look forward to seeing you getting started again.  There is nothing better than the feeling you get after working up a good sweat or doing one more set than you did the day before.  Get back on the wagon.  We're watching you now.

You need a friend that will push you and that you can push back into getting fit.

Today I felt so blah and had a headache.  All I wanted to do was plop, watch tv, and eat something junkie...
Instead, I grabbed a basketball and threw some hoops for 20 or so minutes.  The blood pumping made me feel a little better and helped my headache some.
In fact, when I got inside, I saw my workout equipment lookin at me, and hopped on for a half hour.
My advice: just get up and do it.  You're not gonna want to til you're doing it.  :)
