I ran the Myrtle Beach Half Marathon on Saturday, this was my second half.  It was a great day for a marathon perfect temp but it was windy.  I was so trying to run a 2:15 my last half in october I ran a 2:31.  We went down on Friday and did the family fun run with the kids and had a great time, my son ran a 7:30 minute mile, then dinner and to bed early well as early as you can when you are staying in a hotel room with 3 kids! LOL My husband decide he was going to take me to the start so we were up at 4:45 and out the door by 5:30 the race started at 6:30 we were thinking that he would drop me and go but he was able to park right by the start line so I set in the car until 6:15 got out and warmed up, then it was time for the start I jumped in the middle of the pack there were around 3000 runner for the half.  I felt great even though my training has been off because of the holidays and the lovely winter weather.  Anyhow I knew at mile 4 I was ahead of my pace, then we turned onto ocean blvd and right into the wind it felt like we were being pushed backwards...lol at mile 6.5 I had a time of 1:09 on the clock,  but I knew I started in the toward the back so I was still just going for it. At mile 9 my husband came sprinting up beside me with a water bottle with cyctomax telling me he would see me at the finish, he needed time to get all 3 kids there...lol it was great seeing him again, somewhere between mile 12 & 13 there a was another clock it had 2:11, so I am so happy thinking if I at least keep this pace I will run between a 2:15 and 2:20 depending on my chip time.  Coming down the shoot I see the clock up ahead I can see it 2:20:20.  I crossed at 2:20:30 and was so happy.  I Pr'ed.  I have been waiting on my chip time to post but it seems my chip may have messed up because they have my gun time and chip time the same which is not possible.  I don't run with a gps because I get obsessed with looking at it, my husband hit the timer and with that it was a 2:17 at any rate I pr'ed by 11 minutes which I know is huge but I really wanted a chip time, guess I need to do another race! : ) After the race the kids got to play in the park, then we hit the beach it was such a beautiful day!
