C25K Update - Week 5

I hope runners aren't supposed to be tough.  I'm neither.  But as I read your words, I choked up a little thinking of myself coming around the last turn of my first 5km.  I won't be surprised if I'll have to insist to friends and family that my eyes are just sweating really bad, not tearing up!!

Chad

P.S.  I've been posting my C25K update on Sundays.  I'll let you know how it goes.

SUNGLASSES  are the answer to sweaty eyes!

Sorry I kinda hijacked your C25km threat talking about myself and my experiences....this is about your accomplishments to date and the upcoming ones (like a 5km)

BTW, if you put one foot in front of the other and run, you get to call yourself a runner......as for tough, well only you get to decide that.....but it takes a lot of courage to get out there and do it, especially when you don't have that classic skinny runner physique!

...from wikipedia (so it MUST be true :-)

In people:

  • Someone or something who runs

No apology necessary.

I appreciate the banter and supportive conversation.  Your accomplishments inspire me to press on.

Thank you for our "little chat" yesterday.  It helped remind me about my passion for running and made me get out for my run last night.  I'm not a fan of treadmills, so outside is usually my first choice.  But I'm a Canadian runner and sometimes, we need to be tough...the temperature yesterday was around -16 F (if I did the math right...) with very strong winds...good thing I own a lot of running clothes, I needed to wear them all

I laughed a little thinking about your questions related to the track, the tracks here are frozen solid, no spring or cushiness to them at all,  I suppose they aren't like that in Georgia even if it is winter....

Happy Wednesday!

So glad to hear that 20 minute run on day three doesn't kill you!  I was supposed to hit day 2 yesterday but my daughter had a varsity soccer game, so I'm making it up today.  I've been running on the treadmill too so I need to get out on the road at least once a week to get used to it.

I do day 3 on Sunday.  Dreading it, but looking forward to it too!

You'll do great.  You can read my old posts and get a sense of my dread as I face each new week and the challenges on the horizon.

I've got the 25 minute run at the end of this week...looking forward with fear, but hope.

Dude you so have that run in the bag.  Just pace yourself and find your groove and next thing you know it will be done.
