Who is still planning on Disney in Jan '12?
Scott:
Linn has the correct dates. March 15 it opens. They are doing it differently this year than in past years where they would open the registration the day after the full. The first few years, if you didn't sign up for the Goofy in about a week you missed it. Now though, there are more spots and last year's registration didn't close out until late. I will post a link to the official site where they post the % of how full the races are. Last year the 5K sold out first and I think that was in October because I missed it by a day. The Goofy and the half may have remained open until November. If it wasn't it was close to that. The full didn't close out until December and if it matters, they offered a free day at a park on the Monday after the full to anyone in the full.
It has been my experience that registration gets to 50% pretty quickly and then it slows. Once it gets to 90% it closes real quickly because the people who like to hold on to their money jump in at that time. I am not sure how opening registration later this year will effect all that.
I am not sure if they officially say how many spots they have but the thought is that each race has in the 22K range. I think they have about 6,000 goofy spots and 16 or 17 thousand half and full spots.
The half and full will probably be in the $150 range this year and the goofy will most likely be over $350.
