Tough Mudder question

I am looking at doing a Tough Mudder challenge in July.  I was just wondering if anyone had ever done one and what would be recommended for training and preparing for it.

I am currently training for my first half marathon in May so I am hoping that endurance for it won't be a big problem.  Road running is fun, but this looks like a total blast.

i'm thinking about doing this one too (in GA), i'm not training for this event specifically as my strength and endurance should be able to handle the distance and obstacles while i train for other events (like you training for a half).  i'm treating this event as a fun event (b or c), but am not looking forward to running through the live wires w/ 10,000 volts!  that's freakin crazy!
Where are we going??  And why am I in this handbasket??

right now.  somewhere.  somebody is working harder than you.

Hopefully Katie will see this... she did this last year (or something similar) and LOVED IT.  She is primarily a runner but does a lot of cross training with rowing, weights etc and managed it just fine.

Good luck, sounds fun!!

Katie did Warrior Dash Last year and if it doesn't fill up I am registering next weekend for the GA one.  Same idea but Tough Mudder is longer I think.

Yeah, tough mudder is a lot like warrior dash, just longer and with more obstacles etc. I think the one in GA is around 10 miles long.

Oh my gosh, SIGN UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Warrior Dash isn't really the same, but it was kinda a little bit..obstacles and such...but seriously, so fun!!!!

Tough Mudder will be a cake walk in comparision to your half...no joke, when I did the Da**** was a cake running, especially after my half, and the obstacles were just an absolute added bonus...really, who would have though mud would be that fun?!?

MN...when and where??  Just curious, I've got a friend in Woodbury and I go out there once a year..

I live in Moorhead, about 3 hours away from Woodbury.  The tough mudder I'm doing is in Wisconsin on July 23rd.  It's about 8 miles long, on a ski slope with 18 obstacles.  Can't wait looks like a lot of fun.

My only concern is those berlin walls, being a former fatty I have never climbed anything like that and have no idea how to.  Climbing a 12 foot wall seems a little daunting.

OOOOOOOOO, I'm excited to see this topic!  Warrior Dash is coming to Michigan at the end of July, and I've been registered (with my hubby and some friends from work) for about 3 weeks, and I cannot WAIT!!
