Anye one know how long I should expect to be out of commission (ie when should I be able to start running again) after the surgeries listed above?

I know everyone is different but would like to hear from those who have some idea.

I've been talking with my PS about LBL and hernia repair, and he said at least 2 months of only walking on flat (no hills). Walk as much as I like, but it has to be flat and nothing else or I could pull out the internal stitches (he puts in 4 layers of stitches).

Thanks, I will be asking my dr when I go in on 3/7/11 what his guidelines are.

Good times on your 1/2 Marathons.  Isn't it great to see such improvement intimes?

Yeah, I was so thrilled with the last one.  First time I really felt like I was competing.  The first was amazing just to finish, the second was a fun walk with my DH, the third I went all out to beat 3:30 and did!  I LOVE it!

I had LBL Dec 10th, 2010, and I've been back to running since about 4 weeks out. Doing an 8-miler this Saturday...it feels tight sometimes and I have to slow down due to ab soreness at times but it's all good. You just have to learn to respond to your body's needs.

Be happy.
