Hi,

I'm about a month out from surgery.  My doctor had originally said don't lift anything heavier than 10 pounds.

When can I start lifting heavier weights?  At what point is it okay to do abdominal work?

Thanks!

The pretty standard answer is 6 weeks.
But........ You need to confirm this with your doctor.

My doc said 6 weeks initially, but after my 1 month check up he said to go for it just take it easy.

what scott said.  typically 6 weeks, but your surgeon should clear you prior to anything more strenuous than walking.  i was cleared around 6 weeks for all exercise.  best of luck!
Where are we going??  And why am I in this handbasket??

right now.  somewhere.  somebody is working harder than you.
