For our 26th Anniversary, I signed DH and me up for a fun 5K.  I've been walking the half marathons, though I walked/jogged the first 4 miles of the last one, but I have yet to really work on running.  Now I have no excuse.  I want to run my first 5K and I think it will be an awsome anniversary treat.  DH is already a runner (ran his first half marathon in 2:14 at the age of 50 last year).  So wish me luck.  I've got two months to train.

Great anniversary present!  With your background, I'm sure you'll have no problem reaching your goal.

I just signed up for my first 5K in over 15 years!  It's April 8th.  I'm starting a couch to 5K program on Sunday for 8 weeks.  My DH is signed up too as is my daughter in law.  I'm 51, so this is a big deal for me.  Looking forward to cool running!

What a cool anniversary idea.  You can pant and bump water bottles afterward.  Matching t-shirts perhaps?  Lovely.

I am off to do 5k tomorrow and I may jogged some.  I am signed up for first half marathon in June so this should be an adventure. I have never never been a jogger nor runner but it is in the name of getting healthier and more fit.  A friend and I are also attempting to be amateur cyclists.  We do our first 25 mile ride this weekend. Not something that I thought i would be doing at 57 years of age.  Losing weight does help get me moving!

I know you will do great.  I am also attempting to do couch potato to 5k.  I am beginning week five on Monday. It is good to have exercise goals as well as the weight goal.
