Born to Run

One of the great thing about being partially put on hold since my surgery is the opportunity to catch up on a lot of reading.  If you haven't read this book you should.  If you enjoy running you should definitely read this book.  And remember to always run with a smile on your face.

I have probably read 25-30 running books but surprisingly, this is not one. I'll get it.

It was a blast to read/listen to that book.  I picked up a book on CD and ripped to to mp3.  It was my running tunes for a while.

Very enjoyable and was hoping it would not end.

made me want to throw out my shoes and hit the dirt!  I started with dabbling in trail running - good times.  maybe someday I'll go barefoot!

i know two people who went barefoot because of this book and immediatly were injured... i suppose it is best to be cautious when doing something radical!

i did go with low cost shoes as a result of this book, and haven't had a major injury since (knock on wood), it's been over 9 months since i switched.  i just buy some low level new balance running sneakers for about 40 or 50 bucks.  to be completely fair, i also have been more cautious in my training, so i can't credit the shoes 100% for the injury prevention.

like anything else, I would expect to have to ease into barefoot - we've been wearing support for so long our legs aren't used to anything else.

Cool with the low level NBs though.  Glad it's working!
