Hello Everyone,

I have just recently fell in love with working out.  It was so hard to workout at 341lbs so I gave up...tried to get back into it and kept giving up...now at 219 lbs...It just feels good to work out.  I am currently working on running a 5k in March and I am really proud of my progress.  The only problem is now I have a swollen fat knee...is it due to my running?  That is the only thing new in my routine.  Does this mean I can't run anymore?  In the meantime what kind of upper body weights can I do for my arms, tummy, thigh ect.?

Sorry for the long run on sentences..but I can sure use your help.

Thanks in advance!

My suggestion: put some ice on it (to reduce the swelling). Take some advil/ibprofen. Go see doc. It could be anything but you want to get it checked out before it gets really bad and you are unable to even walk. Good luck.

Reduce inflammation with Aleve, ice, and get an appointment with orthopedic doctor. I would say that this is a "wake up" call to not run. Think of softer impact exercises to save the knee. Exercise on land or better ye****er to strengthen everything around the knee.
