Running in the snow - DUH
For those of us enduring a particularly snowy winter, finding safe places to run is hard (especially those of us in urban areas, but I don't doubt there are struggles everywhere).
Combine this with my absolute lack of motivation right now, and cold weather being frighteningly painful, and you bet I've not gotten out there to run (oh, I can't even discuss the dreadmill).
Anyway, on my way to work this morning, I drove by the same cemetery that drive by every day, the one I run in at least once/week during the other 3 seasons... and I saw a guy running out, and turning around and running back in.
DUH. The cemetery gets snowplowed, and has pretty low traffic (that's why I run there in the nice weather) and is therefore a fairly safe place to run in the winter!
I'm sure you've all figured this out by now. I just wanted you to laugh at my ignorance. But if it helps anyone get out there, then YAY! I plan to hit a cemetery next time it's daylight, over 30 degrees and not actively snowing/blizzarding outside. Hopefully that's before March.

Sue, have you tried spikes? I find them to be very helpful; the streets here are like running in sand these days. My daughter went out for a run a couple of days ago and said the snow on the street was hard to run in.
The cold....... well that is a different thing altogether! Hang in there girl!
