So excited. I feel good and felt great the whole run. I have never been able to say that. I really trained well and smart for this race and I am proud of my hard work and how I did today.
My goal was to run it under 2:30 hr. I didn't care if it was a second under, just wanted it under. Then I started getting nervous b/c I put a time limit on my first half marathon and everyone was telling me that I shouldn't worry about time, just finishing it.
But you know what, I will cut to the chase....I exceeded my goal! I ran it is 2 hours, 24 minutes, and 4 seconds!!!
I placed 3485 out of 5750 people! And what I think is even cooler is what I did DURING the race. I not only was awesome at pacing (10:59 avg pace) I was able to increase my pace a little the last half of race (because I didn't start off too fast...kept steady) and was able to increase my placement by 300 people from the first half to the second half!!! I am very proud of that.
I even mustered up enough energy the last .3 mi to run a 7 min mile!!! I sprinted across that finish line.
I feel good and am excited for my next half in 3 weeks!
Oh and I have offiicially gone off the deep end. ha. I am going to do another half in Mar and then a 10k in April. HA! Love it!

thanks everyone. a little sore today. luckily it is the good, "I worked out hard sore" not the injury type of sore
Have a massage scheduled for tomorrow and then yoga to stretch me out some more!
I know I sounded like I was bragging but I am just so dang proud of myself. And I guess in a way I am bragging but more so I am just so excited what my body did and how I really committed to something, trained right, and it paid off!
