PS Update - I've been missing you all!

Hey there all! Hope you are all doing well. I have been away from the boards/internet/life, for several weeks. I am now 5 weeks out from my belt lipectomy (being sawed in half), and the healing process has been a bit more difficult than I had anticipated!
My RNY recovery was a breeze...this...not so much.

11 lbs. of skin was removed, which is awesome. However, I will not be cleared to do anything other than wal****il around March 15th. Which means, there are three 5K's I typically do, which I will have to miss.

My belly button died (private funeral was held a couple of weeks ago). So, I am now in wound care mode three times per day, and no swimming.

I know I was fortunate to have double insurance coverage, and to get the procedure covered at all....but honestly, not sure I would do it again...

I guess worst part is knowing I am losing my muscle mass, lost my training gains, and am still waiting for all my nerve endings to wake up.

Okay, enough whining....

Hope you are all well!  I guess I will start recording my walks in the daily workout stream...although it makes me feel kinda whimpy...

Hugs,
Kathy

when the sun comes up you'd better be running.

Sorry to hear that your recovery has been a little rough.  I was a slow healer with my breast reduction several years ago, but it was well worth it when the wounds finally closed.

Focus your energy on healing and getting in your protein.  When you get the green light to return to your routine, you know you've got what it takes to achieve your goals.

Thanks everyone. I'm anxious to get back to "it"...but really need to make sure I am all healed up.
Sometimes I just gotta laugh at the "experience".

So, yes, focusing on my  healing, protein, and the bikini top I will be wearing this summer on the jet ski!
