What a beautiful day here today...it is in the 50's so I dashed home from work and grabbed my running shoes and hit the pavement...did a nice 3.12 miles...I am trying to keep my pace up over 5.5 and today my average was 5.7...so I am happy with that...I needed some new goals to keep me motivated....that and some warmer weather!!!

Today I started my C25K training... and I sucked at it! Half way through, I had to stop and take a 5 minute break... 3/4 way through I gave up cause I just couldn't take not doing housework or something more productive. I know...running is productive, but with my obsessive issues it's not as easy to stay focused on running when I have a schedule of housework and stuff. Weird, I know.. but, tomorrow I am going to try again.

well that is 3/4 more than you probably did of it yesterday.  All you can do is your best and try for a bit more each time.  If you aren't ready for C25K then make your own intervals, that is how I started. C25K had me ready to throw in the towel, but I found what worked for me which is what we all have to do in the end.

You wan some motivation to help your obsessive nature, then find a 5K that is about 10 weeks out and signup for it.  If you are that obsessive I bet you will obsesse over the date and push yourself to doing it the best you can.

Thanks for that! I was a little worried to be getting scorned for not going through the whole workout. I don't feel too bad now, now that I know not everyone can start off doing the whole thing. I really thought since it was so recommended that even I could do it and when I failed... misery set in!  And you're right... I will definately be obsessive over having a date to accomplish a 5K!

Thanks again! You've really picked my spirits up!

one thing you won't find here are people criticizing your workouts or motivation, you'll get tough love, but only if you ask for it....  all you can do is try hard, the rest will fall into place.  best of luck, and welcome!
Where are we going??  And why am I in this handbasket??

right now.  somewhere.  somebody is working harder than you.

Oh, good heavens, you're not going to get criticized here! I wouldn't post my little workouts if I thought I was going to get negative feedback. People here want to encourage you!

Keep at it!
