My 5k-iversary

A little over a year ago I started posting on this board about my aspirations to run a 5k and even a half marathon eventually.  Some nutjob named Dan, and some of his nutty cohorts around here... Scott, Bill, Cassie, Jet, Kathy, KernieC, Rob et al convinced me to go ahead and give a local 5k a chance, even though I had not run that far and was scared as heck!   My results back then:  http://www.coolrunning.com/results/10/ny/Jan24_2010HE_2_set1 .shtml  32.53!

Today I ran that same 5k, one year after!  It was freaking cold!  -4F when I woke up!  Not even close to a PR, but still 7 minutes lower than my time last year: 25:36..  Its going to be fun running some of the same races from last year and see how much I improved!

Thanks to all of you for the encouragement and motivation!

Peer pressure is such a wonderful thing!

Now, here you are an official nutjob in pursuit of your first Ironman!  What a year it's been for you.

Awesome job.  I;'m sure waiting for the race to start was a lot worse than actually running it.  It's great not only to see the impovement in time but realize that this is something that you've stuck with for more than a year!  Keep up the good work but try and get warm.
