I don't think I will be a slave driver. I will def challenge folks to push themselves, but I am not the type to get in people's face and scream. The one thing I CANNOT STAND in some classes, is the instructors inability to effectively commnunicate the game plan. You know the ones: Add on, get out of the saddle, go fast, FASTER, blah blah blah... there is no purpose. I think if you set the tone with: Today we have 4 BIG climbs with 4 sprint intervals between each hill, and we will finish with a tempo ride, and effectively tell them throughout the workout where we are at, combined with motivating statements and affirmations ... "Feel yourelf getting stronger", "Can you see there is nothing keeping you from accomplishing your dreams" etc... THAT's the type of instructor I want to be. Aside from that, I am a DJ and LOVE music, and think I can put together some pretty solid and creative workouts...

Congratulations! I always enjoy spin instructors who actually get outside to ride once in a while. Their workouts tend to be more geared towards cyclists.

don't be, they are a great way to workout with a group, when you start out you just do what you can. the best part about spin class is that you are in control of your workout (i.e,. how hard, fast, how much resistance you put on the bike etc.). I'm going to the 7-8 am class tomorrow (Tuesday) it is a really good class for beginners and the normal instructor is really good for newbies (no yelling whatsoever), look for me there if that time works for you.

7-8 is a bit difficult with my work as I usually hit my office at 8. I will try to rework my schedule and give it a shot next week though.
Tomorrow I'll be doing arms and legs. Today was an awesome workout nice to have good equipment to isolate specific muscle groups.

on mon, wed, and fri there are 5:30-6:30 am spin classes, although these are normally a bit tougher (called performance classes). if you can't make the 7 am on tues/thurs, they offer similar classes on the weekends.
