Hello all!  My name is Angela and I'm an exercise junkie wannabe!!  I had VSG on 10/25/10 and have lost slightly more than 40 lbs.  Started boot camp 2 weeks ago and that broke my stall (thank goodness)!!  Just wanted to pop in and say hi - hopefully find some workout accountability here - working out is not natural for me - I have to force myself to do it.  Praying for the day I live for it!!  Right now I NEED it to reach my goals - looking forward to the day I WANT it!!

Welcome to the Exercise & Fitness Board!  There are a lot of folks here who are just starting on their journey and others who have been around for years.  I encourage you to post on the daily workout thread.  Not only does it help with accountability, but you'll get other fitness ideas and get to know people.

Congratulations on breaking the stall!

 Welcome to the group.

You will find so much inspiration here.  I know I did when I first started out.  Seht, Dan, Andrew, Cassie, Jillian, Scott (and more I cant remember right now) all have been so inspiring to me to get out and get moving.  When I first started coming to the boards, i hated exercise, now I hate to not exercise, and really have become a freek like so many others.

Good luck and come back often.

Welcome!

As one of the newer people here let me say that you will get a lot of motivation and insperation.  Reading the stories of people here has helped push me beyond exercise being something I need to do, but has made it something I want to do.

welcome!  for  a lot of us, we need(ed) to force ourselves to get to the gym or keep moving. eventually it became habit, and then one day i found myself in a terrible mood when i missed a planned workout... it sneaks up on you :)
Where are we going??  And why am I in this handbasket??

right now.  somewhere.  somebody is working harder than you.

welcome!  My only advice is to set 2 goals - a short term very reachable goal (like run a 5k in xx minutes) and a mount everest goal - you know, a goal that seems absolutely crazy, but is definitely achievable  (like running a marathon, working out xx days in a row etc etc) - I think you'll find its a common thread among a lot of us (although not all of us) here that turn this into a lifestyle - we are always working towards our next event, and every workout has a purpose.

If I don't have something on the calendar, I'm a total slacker!  I'm about to register for ANYTHING just cuz I'm not doing much these days, waiting on my boyfriend to pick our next race.  I'm about 1 week away from "this is what I'M gonna do".
Read my blog, BARIATHLETE   I run because I can.
