great run tonight, first run since the goofy where i felt good, but i'm a huge dumbass.  ran 7.64 miles on the TM in an hour with 10 minutes of walking for warmup/cooldown.  buuut, i forgot to pack my socks in my bag and like a dumbass ran the hour without socks.  now i have about 7 blisters on my feet including two half-dollar blisters under each big toe, i'm talking blisters that completly cover the entire surface area under the toe.  ugh.  i'm still going back to the gym tomorrow, but i'm guessing i'm not running :)
Where are we going??  And why am I in this handbasket??

right now.  somewhere.  somebody is working harder than you.

Hi there! This is my first time posting on the exercise board. I'm just starting to get moving for real. I have a goal to run a 5k in August. I walked 2 miles today. Actually, I've been walking 2 miles every day for a few weeks. My goal is to build to 3 miles by the end of January and then 5 miles by the end of February. Then I'll start the couch to 5k on March 1st. That's the plan anyway.

I am also doing some weights with the goal that as the fat comes off, there might be some nice muscles under there.

Hi Chickie, I mostly lurk in the exercise forum since I find all these fit people intimidating (just kidding.... sort of), but just wanted to encourage you.  The weights and exercise started early and continued with will really help you avoid the melted-candle effect some WLS patients get.  Also, I'm doing the C25K but am stuck in week five because the workout suddenly jumps from two eight-minute intervals of jogging separated by a walk, to 20 minutes of jogging with no break, and I just can't seem to push through!

Drink lots of water and stretch.  Good luck with your exercise!
