I want to get some different exercise routines. I can't decide whether to get a Wii or an Xbox. I'm thinking Yoga, Zumba......Does anyone have any thoughts about this?

I have a wii but wish I had an xbox with kinect. I like the freedom to move without worrying about the board or bands you strap on.

My kids have both. With the Xbox, you can use the kinect which is hands free and you dont have to worry about any controllers. They have a dance game which is really fun. With the Wii, we have the fit board and I like it but prefer the kinect better.

We have an Xbox with Kinect and a friend has the wii with wii fit and some other exercise games....I have tried both and like our Kinect better.  The game selection is more limited due to the new technology of no controlers. There are games that offer Yoga, your traditional work out with push-ups and such. I also was able to download a free demo of "The biggest loser" work out program last night. I also use my xbox to watch Netflix (you can do the same with the Wii)

One of the things to consider is that with the Kinect it is harder to "cheat" at your workout...im not saying you cant...its just harder...you have to move your BODY, not just a controler/apply weight to a pad.  Also you dont have to fret over lost controllers, dead batteries in the controller, and broken controllers.  Also the xbox will also give you (and any children you might have, including hubby) the freedom of playing other non-kinect games (i.e. RPG's, first person shooter, puzzle games, etc)

I got a subscription to gamefly.com so we could "rent" our games and i could test run them before dropping $50-$60 for a game and then not liking it.  So far I have been able to decide to not get one game, wait on another and definately buy a third game.  So my small subscription fee has saved me over $100 already and that is just in one month.

XBOX W Kinect, hands down! We have had our Wii since it first made its way into the world and I will tell you because of the lack of freedom w most of the games it is primarily used for netflix.
The Kinect on the other hand has been on everyday since Christmas. We have an 11 yr old, 7 yr old, 2.5 yr old and my 19 year old sister in addition to hubby and I. We all play every game. Some definitely work you out more than others. I would recommend the wall mount if you are limited on space.

Hope this helps.
