New Years Resolution

Well, I have fourteen days till my hernia surgery on Jan. 14th.  Since I'll be laid up a while (hopefully not too long) after the surgery, my plan is to get in at least a five mile run every morning starting tomorrow up to and including the day of the surgery.  Hopefully I can also get some gym time and cycling in also before the big event.

What's your plan?

I start off tomorrow running a 5K.  Then I am into my "training" program for a 25K in May followed by a Marathon in October.  There will be some other 5K and 10Ks on the weekends.  The way it looks, I should log at least 1000 running miles in 2011.  Pretty good goal for the year!  Run On!

Day one complete.  Twelve miles.  Way ahead of goal.  Weather was great this morning, although there were a lot of slow moving cars out on the road when we started running at 5am.  Guess those people won't be out running today.

 My focus is IronMan Louisville, August 28th.  All of my workouts and races will be purposed to help me get to that goal.  I have planned out my race schedule until then, I have my training plan set up, and I am ready.  

The only thing I am really worried about that I control is my swimming technique, I only started 1.5 months ago having never swam before, and I couldn't find a coach, so just teaching myself.. hopefully I can get there in time.  That's where I'm focusing most of my effort for now.

I also have the half Ironman Orlando in May, hopefully I will have had enough time on the bike around here on actual roads, not just the trainer.  I can't control the weather.. :)

My goal is to run the Columbus Marathon on October 16, 2011. 

This will be my first marathon and a huge personal goal for me.

I have three goals this year but not sure about the one.

I have a 1/2 marathon in Dallas Texas in March 2011
body building competition in San Antonio Texas in October 2011

I really want to complete a marathon but not sure I can fit it in this year.
