Tuesday workouts
7 mile run, but it felt much harder than usual, and I kept my usual pace. It felt like someone was behind me pulling me back, and my knees started hurting around mile 4. I am wondering if I am not fully recovered from my marathon I ran on the 19th. How long does it take to recover from a marathon?

I was the same way, but it was like 1 step forward two steps back. Finally the tightness and pain forced me to change my workout (basically over the last month). I didn't run on the road much, but added a lot of cross training, staying high intensity but shorter duration, and also a lot of weight training - and lots of stretching (and now the foam roller).
I can tell you it was hard to slow down a bit, but well worth it - I feel like I have a great base to start the HIM training and really enjoy it.
