VO2/RMR Test - Questions!!
I had my RMR tested. It was nice to get an idea of how many calories I was burning at rest because the online formulas just don't work for me.
I want to get my VO2Max tested so I can better estimate how many calories I burn working out but it's not really essential.
I don't really see how these tests would help you get better at working out those. I got better at working out by ... working out!

VO2 Max will give you good DATA, but will not get you better at working out. Be prepared to push ourself to almost complete failure IF you want to get a true reading. Do you do Endurance Sports? I have never heard of someone getting VO2 Max aside from Endurance Athletes...

RMR/BMR are great pieces of information to craft your nutritiion plan around real not theoretical base calories burned each day @ rest.
Dan is right about the VO2 max, it is good data, but won't help much unless you are using it as a baseline for future VO2 max tests to gauge your improvement (hopefully) or at a much lesser value to compare yourself against other endurance athletes (although some experts don't think these values really add up to much when comparing person to person). I have taken both of these tests 6 months apart and have had good results, i'm due for another round after my next event.
