Congrats you guys! Louisville was my first IM and while it was tough, was so much fun! The finish line was a big ol party. Work on your swim. The first 1/3 of the swim is UPSTREAM, but after you finish the first part and make the turn away from the estuary, it is downstream and you can cook coming back in. No wetsuits almost every year. I would recommend for your bike training, to learn how to climb, and immediately get back in the saddle and hammer downhill and recover on the flats. Almost the entire course rolls, but if you keep your downhill speed uber high, it makes the climbs seem pretty managable. My Garmin read 7100' total climb. I hit almost 50mph on the out n back section before you hit La Grange. A LOT of fun going down... Going back up; Not so much (About 2 mile climb) I know you guys will bust your tails and tear it up. I am so pumped for you guys!!!

Thank you for the insider advice Dan, I really appreciate it. Where I live it's pancake flat, but I can drive an hour on the weekends to go on hilly bike rides. I will work on my swim,I can promise that. I can't begin to describe the excitement I am feeling about this race.

Then in 2012, do the Kansas Ironman.
