Its in Pooler. It's an awesome 5k. This year was the inaugural race. The goal was to raise $5000 for the wounded warriors, the word got out, more people showed up than expected, and $10000 was raised for the soldiers who fought so hard for us and were wounded in the process. I loved being a part of this event this year, I have never taken for granted that I returned home from Iraq twice uninjured.

Maybe my wife would like a weekend trip to Savanah that weekend.  Growing up as an Airforce brat I have never taken for granted what those in the Military do and support them anyway I can.  If I can make it work I'll do it.  But there is another one to honor the military at Lake Lanier in March that I am going to do.

I have nothing specific planned other than the Crim 10-mile in August (Flint, MI), but I'd like to do a couple of 5Ks in the spring, at least one 10-K, then then Crim, and maybe a Half in the fall.

Then I watch the Biggest Loser and watch those people finish a full marathon, no matter how long it takes, and realize there's absolutely NO reason why if they can do it, I can't, soooo... maybe eventually!

My goal for 2010 was to move up to HIM and IM distances, which I did. My goal for 2011 is to get faster (and stronger). So I'm going to do a lot of races as training sessions and a lot of Crossfit and not try to add on any distance (I was thinking about doing a Double Century, for example, but am going to wait until 2012).

Definite races:
Wildflower Olympic, May 1st (may switch to Long course at the last minute)
Mermaid Alameda (Sprint) - June 12
Vineman 70.3 - July 17
Vineman Relay (swim) - July 30th
IMC - Aug. 28th
Big Kahuna (a HIM) - Sept 10th
Rock 'n Roll Half - Oct 2
CIM - Dec 4 (it's a Boston Qualifier and my goal is to qualify)

I'm also looking at maybe the Marin Century (as a last big bike ride before IMC and also as my "birthday" race), the Terra Bella Century ride, a few random "Splash and Dash" and OWS races, and maybe the Warrior Dash. Those will all either be strictly training or for fun. Finally, I'll throw in a few Sprint and Olympic distance tris here and there as the mood strikes me.

2012 is going to be the year of the Ultra. I'm thinking at least one Double Century, the Death Ride, an Ultra Marathon and a bunch of multi-day events. For example, I'm thinking about doing Wildflower Olympic AND Long, the Triple-T and, of course, Goofy's Challenge. The goal is to be ready to do UltraMan Canada in 2013.
