I became a Marathon Finisher!! See picture
Thanks Roy! It was around 32 degrees and my wave L (waves of A-O) didn't start until 8:45 so I stood out in the freezing weather (see picture of me waiting in my profile album) without a coat and my entire body was frozen for the first 6 miles. I think it truly worked to my advantage, because my legs were numb. In training my shins always screamed the first 6 miles. I was getting really sore around mile 18, but nothing I couldn't push through. I kept my pace a little slower than I would have liked, but I finished and it was awesome to finish. My time was 4:57. Thanks for the kind words and encouragement on OH.
Thank you!!! I did post the picture that was taken right before I crossed the finish line, where I picked up speed. If I had a picture from mile 23, I wouldn't be sporting a good look. LOL! Great experience! Thanks for all the great advice and encouragement along the way. You guys truly kept me going and kept me from losing my mind.
Thank you!!! One of the race announcers said it best...this is an event of true self discovery. It is amazing what you'll find out along the 26.2 stretch about yourself. Great experience! Best wishes and speedy recovery. Don't let it get you down. You've come so far...there is no turning back...marathon finisher ahead! You can do it!!
