What An Idiot!
Yeah so, after about fully recovering from Ironman last week, I decided to start lifting weights pretty heavily. After a VERY brutal leg workout on Tuesday night (The stiff legged dead lifts did my hamstrings in), I sat down with my wife and she said there might be a way I could run the marathon at White Rock Sunday too. So, it sounded good, and we planned for it and got the sitter in place etc... Well yesterday I woke up and DANGGGGG the legs are SOOOOOORE!!!! So, today, I do an old man shuffle into the expo with her, and she picks her packet up, and I go register. So, it's official, I am in for the marathon on Sunday! Some people need months to plan and strategize for a marathon, but for idiots like me, I guess it is just a split-hair, last minute type of thing these days. I know my body will be feeling well by Sunday and if I can perform to my potential, I would really like to go 3:50... We will see! This will be my third year running White Rock in a row and I have yet to finish strong. The last 4 miles are all downhill and have typically crucified my legs at the end. They are a lot stronger now, so I am curious to see how the day unfolds!
For Darrell, Bandhope, and any others out there running the rock, lets meet up somewhere before the race so we can all introduce ourselves officially!

Even though I'm only doing the Half tomorrow, I would really enjoying meeting all of you. All one of ya'll has to do is pick a place and a time to meet, and if I can find it, I'll be there! I'm in awe of all of you who are "going the distance."
Jim
P.S. Traffic was MISERABLE at packet pickup yesterday. I'm guessing getting there as early as possible tomorrow (cold notwithstanding) would be a good idea....
