Unintended rest day. The foot pain was worse this morning to the point I was hoping around,so I went to the ER. Got an x ray and relieved that its not broken and not a stress fracture, but can't run for at least a week, after that I have to see how it feel. In the mean time I got the green light to swim and cycle as long as I don't have pain. Really puts a damper in my marathon training. Marathon is on December 19th, only time will tell if I will be able to do it.

Good to hear nothing major.  I've actually gone a full week with no running myself.  Pretty much the longest I've gone since January.  Had this nagging calf/knee/hip/feet aches since the marathon and just feel like I need to really rest the legs.  Course I could have picked a better week than Thanksgiving week to slow down my cardio work...

I'm trying hard to stay positive, I have done two 18 milers, and was supposed to do my one 20 miler this weekend to start the taper tomorrow, but it looks like the 20 miler won't happen so if my foot heals I hope those two 18 milers will be enough. I am so excited about the marathon, and really don't want to be a DNS. Were you able to get to the start line of your marathon uninjured? Or did you run it with pain? A few weeks after the marathon I have to start my HIM plan for Orlando.

I was having calf issues up to the marathon, that really limited me.  I had one 18 and one 20 - and I probably did the 20 too close to the race, so I think with two 18's you're going to be fine.  I'm no expert, but I suggest you just really temper the first half, no matter how good you feel, just take it easy.

I am getting close on my swimming form where I feel I'll be able to really start the HIM plan (also Orlando in case you forgot :) )  by Jan 1 for sure.  I have half marathons scheduled in march and april (April is 13.1 in NYC), and am looking for some sprint tri's - I guess I'll need a wet suit if I do them up north before May!

Can't wait to meet you in Orlando. Its warm here so the first sprint triathlon of the year is on March 5th, and another one in April, so I will have 2 sprints before Orlando. I need a wetsuit as well, guess I will have to let my hubby know I would rather have a wetsuit than 2 dozen red roses on Valentine's Day lol.

2nd straight day of rest for me.  Trying to get myself to at least 90% health before I begin training in earnest for the HIM, so just taking it easier.  I guess you might call it my mini offseason :)  Tomorrow gonna hit it hard.

My first snowy run of the season - 8 miles, 27 degrees.  Always glad to have friends who brave the elements year 'round.
