If I could possibly request some help to start some type of exercise and running/walking plan ? I am 3 yrs out of having lap-band surgery done and never had started any kind of exercise program, I live to far away in the country to go to a gym or hire a trainer, so I am asking here for any advice to start this stage. I did loose almost 100# but never have reached my goal weight but have been happy at the weight I am 155-160#. My husband and son have both told me that I have lost some of the strength that I once had and I would like to reevaluate where I am and where I would like to go.
I do have some basic equipment that I have at home, I have weights, I have a wii, a gazelle, and the great outdoors.
Any help is so greatly appriciated
Thank You

First - best thing to do is not to worry too much about a "program" if you've done nothing before. Just head out the front door and get moving. Start with just brisk (you want to be a little huffy and puffy) walking for at least 30 mins 4-6 times per week.

Then once that is easy check out Couch to 5K www.c25k.com it's a great beginner's program that will get you from walking to running.

I saw that you had a Wii. There's some great exercise games. Give them a try. Also if you have cable check out the ondemand exercise videos. Just keep trying different stuff until you find something you find fun.

I'd also search on this forum - tons of folks have given GREAT adivice.

I like walking at home.  I use the Leslie Sansome DVD's and she starts at a mile and goes from there.  The movements include knee lifts, sidesteps, walking and raising your arms.  It goes at a good pace and what you can't do you just slow down.  If you have cable look to see if you have FitTV and/or Exercise TV on your free on demand.  There are so many different things to chose from and you can also visit their websites too.

Good luck.
