"Sound proofing" treadmill

Hi.  I live in a second floor apartment and I really want to get a treadmill.  Of course, if I walk or run on the treadmill, the pounding can be heard in the apartment below.

Is there any way that I can muffle the sound enough so that it will not bother my neighbors, or is that too much to ask for?

Any advice would be highly appreciated!!
