Exercise and layering your clothes??

Just curious as to how some of you layer your clothes in the colder or warmer weather.  Things like caps, gloves, sweatshirts...Where to you put them when you get warmer...Or how do you quickly get to them when you need them?  Do you tie your sweatshirt around your waist or neck and why there?  Thought we could get a thread going on this one.  Brian

Nice question. Struggling with this one myself. I am running with a hooded sweatshirt on the colder days so use gloves and a knit hat and if get overheated I can remove and shove them in the pocket of the sweatshirt but as far as having to take off the sweatshirt and run with it tied somewhere I have not figured that one out yet.

i highly recommend fitted fleece.  warm and comfy, not too baggy.  i found a lot for a good price at the post-xmas coldwater creek sale last year online.

i only layer if I HAVE to.  If it's 50 degrees out, I'm not gonna need a sweatshirt after 15 minutes of running, so I just don't wear it.

The times when I've been caught over-dressed, I've tied around my waist.  Why?  Didn't think of an other option.... neck seems totally annoying, but I don't like turtlenecks, so what do i know?

same with hats and gloves - I only wear them if it's like 30 or 40 degrees and once they are on, I just keep them on.

I stuggle with this too -- 50 degrees or warmer, I try to dress minimally, because I'm going to get hot. Colder temps, I will wear gloves and a sweatshirt. My problem is my ears and nose get so cold. Not sure of the solution for that. I need to hear the cars and running in a ski mask would look too hilarious!

This morning I skipped the run because it was cold, windy, and rainy -- and I no longer have a waterproof jacket that fits. So, I suppose I need to shop for one, because here in Oregon, you run in the rain or you don't run at all.

Any recommendations on a good waterproof running jacket?

I usually am riding my bicycle.  Below 60 and I am wearing sweatshirt with hoodie, cap, and gloves.  If it starts to get warmer, I'll just put the gloves and cap in my pockets.  Post WLS I am very cold, so while riding, the wind rips through me a lot.  I ride quite a bit with a backpack...for errands.  I'll usually keep a cap and gloves in there if I have misjudged the weather.  Brian
