Ok, runner kidz, what would you do here?

My totally awesome friend has signed up for half in early April and her 10-week training program has her starting it January 24th with a 3-4 mile run. Thing is, she's already doing 6 miles as her weekly long run.

So, come January 24th, does she skip up to to the week where it's at 6 miles or does she start over and do exactly what it says?

Be happy.

if it were ME, I'd keep doing my long runs longer than 3-4 miles.  Whether or not she goes past 13 is another story, but if she's doing this alone and wants to work up to a marathon distance, she's ahead of the game.

If she wants to do more speedwork, then maybe dropping down and pushing the tempo on the "long" days would be another plan.

I don't think there is any RIGHT answer.

Totally agree. There's also no reason not to start cranking up the mileage now. I'd start this week at the week that says 6 miles, then calculate how many weeks to the April date and just repeat weeks.
