c25k weekly check in
Good morning folks! I'm starting the weekly thread for Chakara, who was away yesterday and unable to do it -- unfortunately I worked 13 hours yesterday and didn't do it either! LOL... but here it is.
So....how was everyone's week? I am unhappy to report that I didn't do a stinking thing. But I've got another goal, which I've realized is VERY important for me, to keep me focused and on track. Two goals, really... one is to be under 170 by Thanksgiving, the other is to be 158 by the first of the year.... Lofty possibly, at this point in the game, but I think I can do it, IFFFFFF I can stay out of the goodies at work. Lord, it's starting already.... but having those specific short-term, do-able goals in the forefront of my mind should help with that tremendously.
All my workdays are 13 hours...good thing it's only 3 days a week, but I leave home at 6:00am and get back home at 8:00pm, and the last thing I want to do it get up at 4:00 to exercise, or do it that late at night. I do work in a physical therapy clinic with a fully equipped gym, and we're very busy, but I can sneak in a little strength-training here and there when I remember. The big plan for me is to run at least 3 days a week, preferrably four if it doesn't hurt, and I keep thinking about starting Zumba on Mondays and Wednesdays. Running's still the big thing, though.
How about you? Got any specific holiday goals, and if so, how do you plan on making it happen?
Have a great weekend everyone!

Wow, you do have a full week! Good for you for trying to get it all in. I have been struggling with finishing my c25k -- seems like I've been in week 9 for the past 2 or 3 weeks. A psychological thing, I think. So, tomorrow should be week 9, run 3. I just finished a 5k for Habitat with a friend from work We walked most of it, but, the time was still faster than my first attempt at running one on 10/30. Hah! I find that amusing. Anyway, it was great to get out in the chilly air to start my weekend like that. My next is Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving morning. My goal is to run the whole thing, but I seem to do better on my own, than in these organized things. I tire out pretty quickly -- is it that I'm trying to keep up with the others and tiring myself out? I've run (well, my pace of a run) for 45 minutes on my own, but can't seem to do that during the organized runs. Oh well... It's for fun, right? :) Have a great weekend, everyone! -margaret
Hi everyone! I hope everyone is having a fantastic weekend. I finished the c25k program and I'm looking for a similar program for longer distances? Any suggestions? I still draw inspiration from this board and love to communicate with you guys. Stacy you are a busy person. I would not be able to do half of what you do:) Smiling Irish Eyes you are doing fantastic! It does not matter how fast you get there as long as you get there. I'm a happy snail. When I think of where I've come from I feel so fortunate to have my life back. coco135
I finished c25k as well... I'm planning to start Hal Higdon's 10k training program - it's an 8 week program that integrates strength and cross training.
Highest: 380 / Surgery Day: 344 / Current: 203.8 / Goal: ~180 / Total Loss: 176.2

Hi Everyone! This is my first post to this board... I have been lerking and thinking about starting C25K, and finally got around to downloading the app to my iphone today :-)
So, I just completed Week 3, day 1 and I am 2 months out from surgery. :-)
... I peeked ahead, week 4 looks tough, but my plan is to trust the program and push myself!
