I am week 3 from surgery. I have been walking apprx 10 min a couple of times a day on the treadmill. Problem is, I have a arthritis in my knee and hurts, I tried riding exercise bike but have same problem. I want to get active and help my body but need suggestions. I enjoy reading the posts here, they are truly inspiring.

Welcome!  For now, don't go nuts on the exercise thinking you have to exert yourself.... don't think about getting "cardio," just think about moving.  Walk on the treadmill at a pace you're comfortable with and don't worry about speed, just keep it pain-free if you can.  Keep trying the bike but keep the seat fairly high and the resistance very low... again, just think about getting the joints moving and not about exertion or burning calories.

As the weight comes off, the knee will feel much better and you'll find yourself able to start bumping things up gradually, and progressing speed and/or resistance to the point where it will be cardio.

Hi snshine62.  Have you thought about swimming or water aerobics?  It would be less stress on your knees.  Good luck to you:)  coco135

Yea Coco I did think about it but I live in Pittsboro and don't know of anywhere that offers it around here. I see you live in NC too, I don't know where Hope Mills is though. I'm gonna check in Chapel Hill.

Thanks

I am with COCO.... Water Aerobics and aqua running would be ideal for you...
