I posted last week that I was going to get to go hear Dean Karnazes talk next week, then today I found out that I get to go Hear Chris Macca (2010 Mens Kona Champion) talk tomorrow.

Now if I could just find a local event with Chrissie Wellington and perhaps Rick & Dick Hoyt, I'd be set for getting to meet some awesome athletes.

I'm hoping to get some new inspiration here.

Chrissie is racing IMAZ, you could go volunteer there and you might see her whiz by. If I wasn't clear on the other side of the US, I would volunteer just to catch a glimpse of her, I would be starstruck.

Yeah I went and looked at her schedule.
If I wanted to race IM AZ I'd go volunteer, but since I'm not, I think I'll pass.
I'll catch her at a more local event some time.

Our club was trying to get Chrissie out here but it didn't work out. If I run into her at IMAZ and she remembers me, I'm going to mention it to her and see if I can get it going again.

I ran a 5K with the Hoyt's last year.... such great people, and the conveniently host a fundraiser in my town every year (who knew?)!  I passed them on the way up a hill...but man, they flew by me on the way down!

They threw a great event, and give so much more than they get.  I hope they travel out your way soon, I'm just lucky enough to live close by!!
