struck down in the prime of my running....I just started and came in wanting to get it over with before we go out to dinner for hubby's b-day and crap!  I have a splinter in the fatty pad of my foot....I can't easily remove it where it is and he won't be able to see it!.........times like this I wish I lived close to my mother....lol  Anyone know a foolproof way to get splinters out of feet with something really sticky or something?

I always use the good old fashioned sewing needle and some alcohol or peroxide.

The first time you do something - It's going to be a personal record!

No such thing as a stupid question.  You might think my answer is though.  I promise it works.  Before you go to bed for the night, take a small piece of raw bacon (bigger if you can't see exactly where the splinter is), tape it on, cover it with paper towel or ace bandage and a sock.

The next morning is will be slimy when you take it off but the splinter will be on the bacon. If it isn't then  the splinter is sealed over by skin, you may have to have someone pick at it a bit with a sterilized (alcohol) needle--not to dig but to open the first layer of skin.

This is one of those old home remedies that actually works.  I have even used it to remove glass shards the doctor couldn't get out.  For that I had to do it 3 nights in a row.  The first 2 mornings, I had shiny shards on the bacon.  The 3rd morning...nothing.  No problems since.

That sounds really gross, but it sounds like the best use for bacon I've ever heard! :)  I might try it since my daughter backed out on me....Amazing how many splinters I've taken out of her feet over the years.
