10 mile race in Andover

It was a gorgeous day if a tad bit cold.  No rain and minimal wind so can't complain. After much debate I ended up running in my sweatshirt and gloves.  Glad I did because the couple of times I started to warm up just taking the gloves off for a few minutes was enough to cool me off and ended up needing to put them back on again both times.  I have been training with a friend of mine but during most of the races I end up out pacing her and finishing a few minutes ahead of her. We went into this race agreeing to match pace for at least the first half and we ended up paced all the way till the last half mile or so when I pulled slightly ahead.  I am so proud for her, she really upped her game and felt awesome.  Nice course with some gradual incline and small hills to keep you interested.  My mp3 player only went haywire once and I ran the whole way which was my goal.  I have not found the official times yet but according to the clock at finish I crossed at 1:37:47  which puts me just under 10 miles an hour pace.  Totally psyched.  Felt awesome and strong.  this is my furthest distance yet and just got me totally pumped to try for more.  Thanks for all the inspiration I always find on this forum.  You all rock!
