slump. unmotivated. depressed?
My life is going pretty great right now.
I'm doing ok in my class, my boyfriend is a dream come true, my weight is pretty stable and I've never been healthier.
The last couple weeks I've just been dog-tired and pretty hard to motivate. I don't want to do ANYTHING at my job (and it's starting to get noticed, NOT GOOD), I can barely drag myself out to exercise and I complain to myself the whole time I do. Fake it til I make it feels a long way off.
Perhaps it's the post-half, post-trail race slump. I've got other small races planned, but nothing new and big ton conquer for a while, or maybe it's the fact that I'm freezing despite a space heater blowing at me all day. Maybe it's not enough sunlight? I don't know.
I feel guilty for complaining since people have REAL problems to contend with, but right now, i'm just out of it. Maybe I need to up my happy pills dose?
Anyway, maybe putting it out into the world will free me!

Sue,
If you have a history of SAD, I think symptoms can be more noticable after a season of sunny outdoor activity is forced indoors. I'm sensitive to the shorter days. I just want to curl up in my pajamas and hibernate. Another thought is iron deficiency. When my iron is low, I feel blue.
Whatever the cause, you'll find your motivation again. Sometimes, all we have to do is acknowledge that the feelings are real, like you did today, and the weight is lifted.

Hang in there, girl. We all have our "down" times. Maybe you're getting some sort of virus. Or, I know when it's time for my B12 shot that's how I feel, just totally blah. Might not hurt to have your levels checked.
Thoughts and prayers your way!

5 HTP is what has helped me for the last several months. I was having panic attacks, depression and lack of focus - I started taking it and finally felt 'level' for the first time in a LONG time. I still get sad, mad, glad or whatever - but it's because something happened to cause it, not just all willy nilly feelings.
You may want to see a doc if it's serious enough to affect your day to day life - best of luck to you and hope you feel better soon! :-)

Sorry your feeling this way. I have my seasons of this also...you just gotta keep on, keeping on, keeping hope that it will get better. Up them if you need to, but I heard tanning for people that are pushed indoors does wonders. I am going to try this because my sad season always starts when it gets cold and we are pushed indoors, when sunlight is more limited. Sounds crazy, but give it a try. :)
Thanks, all. My 2 year surgiversary is this month and will be getting labs done - so hopefully if anything is low we'll catch that.
I'm babysitting my dog this weekend, (joint custody situation) so I'm hoping having some puppy love will cheer me up. I plan to spend some time outdoors with him and hopefully the sunlight will help. Hopefully it's just a short-lived slump.

Sue,
I completely understand how you currently feel as I am in the same mood lately. I have accomplished nearly what you have but for some reason have been having a hard time. All I can say is the samething I say to myself "Keep pushing through and it will get better". Now I need to convince myself of that.
Good Luck
