I just had to share with everyone, because I am so excited.  My 10 year old started playing football this year for the first time, it just wasn't clicking, and we thought ok, we will try something else next year....Well, he proved us wrong last night...he got 2 sacks, a great tackle and tons of assists...we aren't sure where the animal came from but we are just so excited and so is he!!!  He is still elated this morning...they have the playoffs this weekend, so wish us luck!!!!

Have a great one!!

That's awesome. It usually takes a year or two for football to click with a kid so it sounds like he will be great. Football is a very "fast" game for kids at that age.

Your right, it is a fast paced game, that is why we were worried, but I think his big motivator was watching is older brother (high school football), get a sack and well you know how brothers are, he had to get one too....so instead he got 2...LOL  My oldest was really excited for him...

It is amazing how kids will just totally nail something when we don't expect it.

That's great.
Now that he is having fun with it, you might see this more often.
A little bit of success and some excitement do wonders.

Good luck with the playoffs.

Good for him!  Just being on the team isn't always good enough when you are a kid, so glad he got the positive reinforcement of making some big plays!!

Erin my son is playing JV football this year; 1st time playing. He is a running back and is doing awesome. The championship game is Sunday. I didn't think I would like being a football Mom, but I have to say, it is growing on me. I really hope he tries out for varsity next year.

Anyway, good luck to your son and his team this weekend.
