My Road Bike I bought in July was a Trek too, I am a fan of the Brand. I did a 32 mile ride yesterday. It was a fun, my average improved by 2 mph not doing anything different. I'm looking forward to a winter of putting in the bike miles.

Yeah I'm a convert now! That's great that your pace improved, I'm really trying to increase my speed, but I seem to have hit a plateau at the 13-15mph mark- I'd really like to move into the 18-20 range, but since I've only been doing this for 2 months I'm not going to be too hard on myself!!
What's your longest ride thus far? So far mine was 63miles and it felt pretty long, but I think it's because I wasn't adequately sustaining myself with supplements. What do you do? I'm going to be working on that so that when I do multiple centuries I don't boink!
Good Luck out there and stay warm!!

So far my longest ride has been 40 miles. I bike to prepare for triathlons, but I plan on really increasing the mileage this winter since I am planning a half ironman next year. On my longer rides I take a salt tab every 30 minutes, and a snickers marathon bar at the 1 hour mark. I also keep a bike bottle full of Gatorade G2 and take sips of it. Staying warm isn't too hard since the lowest it gets here is 50 degrees,I can ride on the road year round.
