Hey y'all sorry I am running a little week. This week has been pure chaos. I think I need to dig deep and kick myself in the tush to get it back in gear! I am taking all the excuses I have and using them to work out less this week. TERRIBLE idea!

Hope you are all doing better than me this week!

Hey Chakara! As you saw from my last post I'm doing the 5k tomorrow.  I'm sooo nervous. I'm also excited.  I will post my update after the run.  Good luck on getting back on track with your workout.  Since you have completed your c25k are you going to go for the 10k?  I would love to try a 10k.  I know I'm getting ahead of myself but I would really like to try and accomplish this goal.  I hope you along with everyone else has a fantastic weekend.  coco135

Well, I was at the gym Thursday morning, 6:30.  16 minutes into the program, I talked myself off the treadmill.  Not sure what I was doing / why I did that.  All sorts of negative talk in my head, which I tried to ignore -- I tried reading the captioning on the TV, then plugging in the headphones to actually listen to the tv .  Nothing I did could distract me from my own negative self talk.  :(   I stopped at 16 minutes and went home.  So bummed with myself.  This is the first time I gave up on myself.  Not sure where it came from and why.  I'm registered for my first 5k tomorrow (Saturday).  I'm going for it, so wish me luck!  -m

Hi all!~! I took a break from c25K a few weeks ago and now I'm back on W7D3. I was able to run two days this week and hoping I can get one on tomorrow. The first time I walked a little in the middle but ran the straight 25 minutes on Tuesday. Very proud.

Anybody else on dailymile.com?? I would love to be friends and motivate one another.

I got in 3 days of running this week....I still give in to my negative thoughts at about 16 minutes in.....so I walk it out for a minute and then get back on for 10-15 minutes more......one of these days I'll overcome my own brain........

good luck to all of you running your 5ks this weekend....

I haven't done a dang thing since LAST weekend, so today I sucked it up and went downstairs to the treadmill (too dang cold here, as I've discovered the cold and the allergens this time of the year do still affect my lungs afterall).  Walked 5, ran 31, walked 4... pleased to find out that 31 minutes wasn't a problem  I was getting bored and wanted to go longer, at least 40 (which would have been a full 5K plus a few yards) but my left metatarsal joints started feeling really bruised and ouchy.

Looking at getting a new treadmill.... well, not NEW, but like new.  My friend at work's sister has to move and get rid of a bunch of stuff and she's got a really nice treadmill for next to nothing.. my friend's just waiting for her nephews to be home to bring it up out of their basement.  Mine's OK, except that the console hasn't worked for years so I not only have no idea what my speed is, but my distance either.  Gonna need that motivation to get me through the winter! :D

What's everyone else planning to do through the cold months?

Oh yeah... it's TOTALLY the weather and the allergies.  I just managed 41 minutes on the treadmill which is more than a 5k for me, and the longest time I've run yet in my life.  Yay!  Makes me worry how hard it'll be to get out and run outside come springtime LOL.
