As of today I started having terrible leg and foot muscle cramps when I sit/lay down... - I've stepped up my exercise (and sweating) this past weeek.. Could it be dehydration?

there's a strong possibility that is has to do with hydration and electolytes.  make sure you are getting in enough fluids and make sure you are getting enough salt and potassium.  bananas make a good pre/post workout snack.  i will definitely get leg cramps when i'm low in electrolytes and or hydration.  if you rule out hydration and elecrtolytes, seek some advice from your doc.
Where are we going??  And why am I in this handbasket??

right now.  somewhere.  somebody is working harder than you.

True muscle cramps are usually the result of low blood sodium...
